Elementary students use math manipulatives in their classrooms to help them solve math problems. First grade teachers recently learned about an
online "virtual" math manipulatives site from McGraw Hill Education, where there are grade level specific workmats and manipulatives to choose from. One first grade teacher, Mrs. Granger, says she "uses it every day!" Students enjoy using the base ten blocks, coins, counters, and hundreds chart. Along with targeting first grade Math TEKS, this resource targets the Technoloy TEK of exploring virtual environments and models to enhance learning.
